The 2015 Osnabrück Summer Institute Faculty: Martin Zeilinger

MZ-OSI-fotoWe are happy to announce that Dr. Martin Zeilinger will join the Summer Institute as a faculty member again, sharing his expertise in law and culture in the introductory workshop “The Complex Relation between Culture and Law: Methods, Concepts, and Approaches.”

Martin Zeilinger holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Toronto. His research interests include appropriation as an artistic practice in analog and digital media; theories of authorship, creativity and cultural ownership; and alternative intellectual property models emerging in digital creative communities. Stephen Best joins the 2015 Osnabrück Summer Institute

We are photo_Stephen Best_July 2014_New Yorkpleased to welcome Stephen Best at this year’s Summer Institute for the first time, granting the student insights into his work at the intersection of law and the humanities.

Stephen Best is Associate Professor of English at UC-Berkeley. He is the author of The Fugitive’s Properties: Law and the Poetics of Possession (University of Chicago, 2004), a study of slavery, property, and legal hermeneutics in nineteenth-century American literary and legal culture.
